The Remote Emergency Battery Backup Unit (EBBU-U) is specifically designed to provide at least three hours of emergency battery backup power to any ActiveLED® Light Fixture, suitable for indoor use
The ActiveLED® Remote Integrated EBB Unit (EBBU-U) includes a 30-Watt ActiveLED Driver, 48 Volt DC Battery Pack (Lithium-Iron Phosphate) and Battery Charger that monitors and charges the battery as required.
Should the AC power to the EBBU Unit be disconnected or fail for any reason, the attached fixture will continue to operate on battery power and will automatically adjust its output level to an emergency power-saving mode to ensure operation for at least three hours, up to eight hours on a 6 Watt fixture.
When the AC power is restored to the EBBU Unit, it will maintain the emergency battery pack at its maximum capacity.
The EBBU Unit consists of a sealed DC Lithium-Iron Phosphate (LiFePO) battery pack, ActiveLED Driver and Battery Charger in a self-contained housing that is cable-connected to an ActiveLED light fixture.
The prerequisite for the EBBU Unit is a "remote" ActiveLED® light fixture without a power supply that is then cable-connected to the EBBU via a two-conductor low-voltage cable (18" 22 AWG cable supplied).
LED Status Indicator
A single LED is visible from the outside of the EBBU Unit housing to indicate the status of the battery pack, as follows:

| Solid Red LED | Battery is in operation, powering the attached light fixture. |
| Flashing Red LED | Battery condition is too low to power the attached light fixture. |
| Solid Green LED | Battery condition is good and is not in operation, it is being maintained at full capacity by the R-EBBU. |
