The ActiveLED® AFIT-P2 CanVapor Retrofit essentially melds the technology of two market leaders to provide a world-class Pace Canlet Vapor Proof Luminaire powered by ActiveLED® Technology.
The U.S.-manufactured ActiveLED® AFIT-P2 Retrofit is an innovative, self-contained LED light engine designed to easily replace the inefficient, high-wattage lamp assembly in most existing Pace Canlet Vapor and Explosion Proof fixtures, providing energy savings of 50-80 percent.
According to the Pace Canlet website (www.canlet.com), the Canlet Vapor Proof fixture is ideal for demanding lighting tasks, from the rigors of ocean going vessels and wash-down areas in food processing plants to the harshness of mining and chemical processing plants.
The ActiveLED® CanVapor Retrofit adds a highly efficient lighting engine to the capabilities of the Pace Canlet Vapor Proof fixture without taking anything away, except of course inefficient lamp technology.
The existing Canlet fixture can be retrofitted with the low-wattage AFIT-P2 LED light engine while retaining all of its Vapor Proof characteristics. The only noticeable difference in the fixture's outward appearance is a superior quality of light, which helps to improve the safety value of its surroundings.
Ringdale’s patented LED technology also ensures a long life span of 90,000 hours (24/7 is 8,760 hours per year), lowering the bottom line when it comes to maintenance and operational costs.
All of the certifications and compliances of a Canlet Vapor Proof fixture remain in place and uncompromised when the ActiveLED AFIT-P2 CanVapor retrofit is installed.
ActiveLED® AFIT-P2 CanVapor Retrofit Product Overview

Removing Existing Pace Canlet Luminaire Lamp and Electronics Assembly
It is a very straightforward process to remove the existing Pace Canlet luminaire lamp electronics assembly in preparation for installing the ActiveLED AFIT-P2 CanVapor Retrofit, as described below.
Before starting any disassembly / assembly work, first disconnect the AC power from the Canlet Vapor Luminaire.
| • | Remove the glass / thermoplastic dome from the Canlet Luminaire. |
| • | Remove existing lamp, Lamp Holder and Ballast Electronics from the Luminaire (details may vary slightly based on the model of Luminaire). Save the rubber seal between the lamp socket and the base as well as the screws that held the lamp socket in place. |
| • | Carefully add the LED driver in place of the ballast electronics, feed the black and red wires and connecor throught the opening in the base and secure with the screws saved from unscrewing the ballast. |
| • | Now connect the red and black wire from the ActiveLED CanVapor Retrofit Light Engine assembly from the other side of the base and secure using the existing machine screws. |
| • | Reconnect the AC power to verify that the installation is correct and the ActiveLED Retrofit is illuminated. |
| • | Reattach the glass / thermoplastic dome to the Canlet Vapor Luminaire. |
The existing electronics assembly will need to be disposed of safely and in accordance with local regulations.
