The U.S.-manufactured ActiveLED® Bega Retrofit is an innovative, self-contained LED light engine designed to easily replace the inefficient, high-wattage light lamp assembly in most Bega 3076 wall-mount fixtures, providing energy savings of 50-80 percent.
Commercial offices, hospitals, libraries, municipalities, universities and colleges use Bega style luminaires for illuminating and accenting hallways, corridors, stairways, atriums and indoor public spaces. The Bega 3076 is a dome-shaped wall sconce that typically has incandescent, compact fluorescent or metal halide lamps and ballasts that need regular maintenance.
The existing lamps can be retrofitted with the low-wattage ActiveLED BegaRetrofit engine and the Bega fixtures still have the same aesthetically-pleasing characteristics. The only noticeable difference in its outward appearance is a better quality of light, which improves the safety value of its surroundings.
Ringdale’s patented LED technology also ensures a long life span of 90,000 hours (24/7 is 8,760 hours per year), lowering the bottom line when it comes to maintenance and operational costs.
The ActiveLED "Bega" Light Retrofit meets many commercial, residential and municipalities’ latest sustainability mandates for reducing energy usage and contains zero mercury.

Removing Existing Lamp & Electronics Assembly from Bega 3076 Luminaire
It is a very straightforward process to remove the existing Bega 3076 Luminaire electronics assembly in preparation for installing the ActiveLED Bega Retrofit, as described below.
Before starting any disassembly / assembly work, first disconnect the AC power from the existing Wall-Mount Luminaire.
| • | Remove Bezel and Glass Dome from existing Bega fixture by undoing two or three machine screws (details may vary slightly based on the model of Luminaire). Retain screws for reassembly of Bezel. |
| • | Remove existing Bega fixture complete with Lamp, Lamp Holder and Ballast Electronics from the building and dispose of in accordance with local regulations. |
| • | Attach the ActiveLED Retrofit Backplate assembly to the building structure using the existing mounting holes. |
| • | Connect the existing AC cabling to the ActiveLED Bega retrofit Power Supply. |
| • | Carefully attach the ActiveLED Retrofit LED assembly to the Bega Retrofit Backplate (3 machine screws) and connect the DC cable from the ActiveLEDs to the power supply (2-wire snap-on connector). |
| • | Apply AC power to verify that the installation is correct and the ActiveLED Retrofit is illuminated, reattach Bezel / Glass Dome using existing screws. |

The following illustrates how the two main parts of the ActiveLED Bega Retrofit are assembled / installed and how the existing Bega3076 front cover (Bezel) and Lens (Glass Dome) are attached to the Retrofit. The picture is of ActiveLED Bega Retrofits installed at the IBM campus in Austin, Texas:
